Costa Mesa
Fire Station No. 1
This project included demolishing the existing fire station and constructing a new, modern fire facility on the same site for the City of Costa Mesa. The goal was to en-hance operational efficiency and provide improved accommodations for the city’s fire personnel.
Work involved site regrading, trenching, and installation of upgraded underground utilities, including water, sewer, gas, and storm drainage systems. Additional infra-structure improvements included new electrical service, advanced plumbing systems, and installation of a complete HVAC solution to meet the needs of a 24/7 operational facility. Interior construction covered full build-out and finishes for functional living quarters, including private bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, administrative offices, and shared lounge and community spaces for on-duty personnel.
The project also featured a dedicated apparatus bay designed to house multiple fire engines, allowing for rapid deployment. The building’s exterior is defined by a striking red and white aluminum panel system that reflects the department’s identity. Addi-tional work included drought-tolerant landscaping, new parking lot installation, and traffic signal upgrades to improve emergency response access and traffic flow around the site.
